Manchester PR and marketing agency Active Profile has launched a new online workshop series designed to help people ‘break into’ the industry.

The initiative aims to give people an opportunity to find out more about a career in an agency and provide career advice.

With many agencies working from home and following social distancing regulations, people may have missed out on in-person work experience and internship placements this summer, leading Active Profile to launch its ‘Break Into…’ programme.

Commenting on the launch, MD of Active Profile, Anna Heyes, said: “We know how much people get out of spending time in a real work environment, and what they learn from those experiences can set  them up for their first jobs in the PR and marketing industry.

“It’s unfortunate that due to current circumstances, many may not have benefitted from that this year and as an agency we wanted to try something out to set them on the road to success. We have a diverse skill set within our team, with colleagues all taking different routes into the roles they’re now in, so there should be something of interest for everyone.”

During the first ‘Break Into…’ session, attendees will hear how the agency got started, what a ‘typical’ day looks like, as well as guidance on what they can do to stand out from the crowd with future employers.
