Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) is a spin-out of the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford and closed a £260m Series C funding round — the largest ever raised by a quantum computing company in Europe – in June 2026. OQC was founded in 2017 by Dr Peter Leek and Dr Ilana Wisby was the founding CEO. Dr Wisby left in 2024 but during her tenure OQC achieved a 55x increase in valuation and raised more than $100m in Series A and Series B funding rounds. She was recently appointed by Cambridge Innovation Capital (CIC) to its Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIR) programme.
