McKenzie Intelligence Services (MIS) combines military intelligence expertise and trusted data sources to deliver actionable insights to the global insurance industry around the impact of catastrophic events through their dedicated disaster response platform, the Global Events Observer (GEO).

Insurers need answers to help them respond to major global events faster and with greater insight than ever before. MIS removes subjectivity and provides clarity following events, ensuring they can inform and accelerate decision-making in order to keep their promises to affected policyholders seeking shelter, food, and other essential resources.

GEO is an intuitive web-based platform that provides a detailed digital representation of the impact of global perils within 72 hours – offering exposure, claims and building-level analysis to support fast and reliable decision-making at all levels of the catastrophe response cycle.

Such events might include explosions, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, winter storms, industrial accidents, public disorder, tornados, hurricanes, hailstorms, civil unrest/war or wildfires.

The key benefits of using the platform are time and money saving during an event. It enables up to 50% faster reserving, and up to 30% faster claims triaging, while up to 20% of claims are closed within seven days.

Indeed, following the wildfires which devastated Los Angeles in January 2025, MIS completed more than 58,000 building damage assessments in under a week – and saved $250,000 for one client on adjustor fees.

The firm, which serves insurers, reinsurers, brokers and loss adjusters, also recently partnered with market-leading aerial imagery providers Eagleview to deliver super high-resolution aerial and oblique – meaning from all angles – imagery.

MIS is constantly monitoring for new events and has responded to over 250 events since GEO launched in 2021.

As well as experts in insurance and tech, its team also has a strong military background, with several former intelligence figures from the armed forces.
