Sunderland AFC has announced a landmark partnership with RAW Charging.
The Black Cats have partnered with the electric vehicle chargepoint operator – which serves the hospitality, leisure and retail sectors – to deliver the largest public EV charging hub in the North East.
Delivered as part of the club’s Ready Eco programme and located at the Stadium of Light, it features 20 charging bays – 16 of them 150kW, with four 300kW – and is powered by 100% renewable energy.
The club says it has become one of the most sustainable in the Premier League through its Ready Eco strategy, which aims to make the club energy-sufficient from renewable sources by 2028 and achieve net zero by 2040.
RAW Charging is funding, operating, and maintaining the entire charging infrastructure.
It follows recent installations at major leisure and hospitality venues, including Cardigan Fields, Knights Park, XScape Yorkshire and Milton Keynes.
