A UK EnviroTech firm has been acquired by Japanese company ASUENE.
Secaro, based in London, is a platform which helps manufacturers to work more effectively with their suppliers to reduce emissions across global supply chains. It rebranded from Manufacture 2030 late last year.
It is ASUENE’s eighth acquisition – and largest – to date and will deepen its UK presence while extending its reach across Europe and North America.
As global manufacturers face growing regulatory pressure to measure and disclose Scope 3 emissions, Secaro provides supply chain sustainability data collection, analytics and supplier decarbonisation programs.
Its customers span global manufacturers including Toyota, Honda, and GM across a network of more than 8,000 companies in over 90 countries.
ASUENE has doubled its customer base to 56,000 in the past year, spanning Japan, Asia, North America and Europe markets. It says Scope 3 emissions typically account for the largest share of a company’s carbon footprint.

ASUENE has meanwhile raised $87 million in Series D funding, led by Decarbonization Partners – the joint venture between BlackRock and Temasek – marking the fund’s first investment in Japan and bringing ASUENE’s total funding to date to $161m.
The round comprises $43.8m in new capital and $19.3m in debt financing from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. It brought together eight new and existing domestic and international investors such as DAIKIN and RICOH.
