When he was 8, Simmy Dhillon’s dad, who worked night shifts in a car factory for 25 years, told him: “Work hard so you don’t end up with a sh*t job like me.” At the age of 11, Simmy started work as a maths teacher and by 17 he was holding down three part-time jobs alongside his A-levels. In 2017, whilst he was studying at university,  he saw how students were living off poor quality ready meals and Simmer was the result. He convinced his brother Jhai (a former professional footballer and certified nutritionist) and his mother (the woman who taught him how to cook) to get involved. He started with £10 of ingredients in his uni kitchen and has bootstrapped it to over £50m in revenue.
