Freedom Media Group (FMG) has appointed ex-MediaCom’s Dominic Rebello to the role of head of strategy.
Manchester-based FMG is a leading advertising and marketing agency offering comprehensive digital marketing and traditional media solutions.
Rebello has more than 15 years of senior strategic experience at a number of network agencies, most notably MediaCom, where he established and led the strategy function.
At FMG, Rebello will focus on four priorities: deepening relationships with key clients, including LMA, Liverpool City Council, the NHS, Lexus, Acdoco and HPAC, through data-led growth planning; refining the agency’s internal strategic process; leading new business development; and shaping FMG’s external voice through thought leadership and the trade press.
Rebello said: “After 15 years in a network environment I wanted to work somewhere the strategic thinking could have a more direct impact on clients’ businesses, on the agency’s direction, on the work itself.
“FMG has genuine senior thinking, real agility, and clients who want more than a channel plan. That’s an interesting place to be.”
Daniel Thompson, founder and managing director of Freedom Media Group, added: “What sets Dom apart isn’t just his track record, it’s the way he strategically thinks.
“He has the ability to get to the heart of a business problem quickly, strip away the complexity, and find the fundamental truth that makes everything else easier to solve.
“That is exactly the kind of thinking that adds real value to clients, and it is exactly what I want at the core of how Freedom operates and the value it delivers to clients.”
Thompson founded Freedom Media Group in 2018 to help brands better target their audiences through the use of data and technology.
He previously spent nearly nine years at media giant Global as commercial director in the North.
