Manchester-based taxi dispatch software provider Autocab has appointed Frans Hiemstra as its new CEO.
The appointment will see Safa Alkateb leave in June after 14 years to ‘explore a new entrepreneurial challenge’.
Hiemstra brings over a decade of experience working across international markets in taxi, fleet and private hire vehicle businesses.
Hiemstra said: “I couldn’t be more excited to work with the team to help Autocab’s continued growth.
“There’s a strong opportunity ahead to invest in Autocab as we work to help even more independent taxi companies across the world scale and grow.
“I’d also like to thank Safa Alkateb for all the work he’s done to build Autocab into the brilliant independent British business it is today and wish him every success in his new endeavours.”
Autocab is owned by Uber and Alkateb said: “After a wonderful 14 years at Autocab, I have decided to leave at the end of June to explore a new challenge.
