Remote people monitoring specialist Big Technologies plc has appointed Ian Johnson as CEO and Mike Johns as Director and CFO of the company.
The pair have already been supporting the Hertfordshire-based firm as non-executive director and CFO designate since the beginning of last month.
Entrepreneurial veteran Johnson served as the head of listed firm Biotrace International for 19 years from 1988-2007, before it was acquired by 3M.
He has since taken on roles on the board of directors for 18 different companies.
Johnson will replace director and interim CEO Daren Moris, who has been stood down by the firm and will leave the group after a period of garden leave.
“I am delighted to accept the role of CEO and am excited to lead the company into a new era of growth and innovation,” said Johnson.
“I look forward to working closely with our talented team to achieve our strategic goals and drive further success. Buddi is a market leader in electronic monitoring solutions and I am confident that the company can make a lasting impact in our industry whilst making the world a safer place.”
Meanwhile, Johns will now oversee the remainder of the audit and publication of both the company’s preliminary results and its audited financial statements for the year ended 31st December 2024.
He joins the company after seven years with Aptitude Software Group plc, where he spent the last 20 months as its CFO.
He also has experience working for accountancy giant RSM.
Alexander Brennan, chairman of Big Technologies, added: “We thank Daren for his hard work at the group as CFO and, more recently, as interim CEO, where he has helped to stabilise the business and its people at what has been a difficult time.
“We wish him well in his future endeavours. I am very pleased to welcome Ian, as a highly experienced CEO, in his new role and I look forward to working with him to deliver on the company’s strategy and objectives.
“We are equally pleased that Mike will be joining the Board in his role as CFO and we are excited to see him continue the hard work he has been doing since joining the company.”
