UK to be ‘centre of global expansion’ for workplace EdTech

workplace EdTech headquartered in Norway is to expand worldwide from its UK base following a £19 million round of funding. 

Attensi utilises gamified simulations for corporate learning and development. It has delivered training in more than 140 countries, in 23 languages. 

Established in 2012, its clients are global corporate blue chip companies in health care, pharmaceutical, financial or professional services, retail and service, manufacture, shipping, offshore and transport, as well as public and third sectors. 

It said the UK now represents almost a third of its overall business, having almost doubled in the last 12 months. 

“We are currently 35 [staff in the UK] and will get to around 50 by end of the year,” a spokesperson for the scale-up told BusinessCloud. 

The company is led by gaming entrepreneurs Trond Aas and Anne Lise Waal. 

Attensi has witnessed recent strong 54% YoY revenue growth and now plans to grow its UK business further in 2021 to become its centre of international expansion – and take its global workforce from 125 to well over 200 by 2022,” the spokesperson added.

It raised the money from New York-based Lugard Road Capital, DX Ventures and existing shareholder Viking Venture.  

The investment follows several years of rapid growth for the company, during which Attensi has recorded a 63% CAGR in annual recurring revenue and executed projects for a wide range of international blue-chip customers.
