Freight booking and management software firm Zeus Labs has appointed Sam McGuirk to its senior leadership team.

Formerly UK Country Director for Ontruck, McGuirk joins Zeus Labs as Commercial and Growth Director.

The London firm launched earlier this year after spending almost a year planning its entrance into the market.

A former employee of Just Eat, he will focus on continued development of the company’s existing customer base across mainland Europe and also roll out itplaybook to two other global regions before the end of the year.

McGuirk said: “The last five years of my career have been the perfect preparation for joining Zeus Labs.

Building successful tech businesses is a big challenge and so you must believe you are truly disrupting an industry for the better. That is certainly what Zeus Labs is doing.

“I see the UK as the freight and haulage marketplace in Europe that is best poised to benefit from digital disruption. Though some have tried, no one brand has any hold on the digital freight sector in the UK at present, so it is my job to ensure that Zeus becomes the most innovative and respected digital freight management company in the region.

Zeus Labs currently work with three of the top 10 logistics companies in the UK market, which demonstrates the value we add to companies of this size.

We are achieving these milestones within 12 months of launch, so my job is to keep us hitting our ambitious targets.

Jai Kanwar, co-founder of Zeus Labs, said: “From the very outset of Zeus Labs’ inception we have aimed to be the catalyst for positive digital transformation in the UK freight haulage sector.

To achieve that goal, we need the very best people in the sector and by recruiting Sam we have bagged one of the best in the business.

We are delighted and very proud that he has chosen Zeus Labs as the company to watch in the sector.”
